Religion was very important to the Aztecs. They worshipped hundreds of gods, each representing something. Kings ruled with the blessing of the gods.

Human Sacrifice
Human sacrifice was very commonly used by the Aztecs. They believed that the gods needed it to survive. They also did it to keep loyalty and to scare their enemies.
